RECIPE FOR CHICKEN HARYALI
Title: Chicken Haryali

Instructions:

Chicken Hariyali

Cooking time : 20 Minutes

Serves 4

Ingredients:
Chicken 2 cups cut into medium sized pieces
Spinach leaves 3 cups chopped
Red chilly powder 1 tspn
Coriander powder 1 tspn
Turmeric powder 1/2 tspn
Onions 2 nos medium size, chopped
Cream 1 tbspns
Refined oil 2 tbspns
Salt use as required
Red chillies 2 nos
Poppy seeds 1 tspn
Garlic 3 flakes
Cashew nuts 10 nos


Method:

1.Cook the chicken in a pressure cooker with a little of the salt, turmeric powder & chilly powder till three fourths cooked. Remove and keep aside. (Save the stock, we have to use it in the later stages of cooking this dish.)
2.Boil the cashew nuts in a pan till cooked. Drain.
3. Grind the red chillies, cashew nuts, poppy seeds and the garlic to a fine paste in a blender. Keep aside.
4. Boil the spinach leaves and onions in a pan with sufficient water till cooked. Drain and grind in a blender. Keep aside.
5. Heat the oil in a pan and add the grounded ingredients. Fry for 2 minutes.
6. Add the chicken and fry for a minute over a medium flame.
7.Add the spinach paste along with the chilly powder, turmeric powder and the coriander powder. Cook for 3 minutes over a low flame.
8. Add the stock and cook till the gravy is thick and the chicken is done.
9.Serve hot garnished with cream.
